pumpkins and trick or treating...

when we carved pumpkins we told makenzie to draw the face she wanted carved. she drew eyes, with eyeballs, a little round nose and a straight line for a mouth. michael helped her carve it and it turned out exactly like her drawing. so cute! i wish we took a picture of her little drawing

when we got home from new york i asked makenzie what she wanted to be for halloween. she said she didn't know and i thought we would just go shopping at the costume store and pick out something. well, one day she was playing dress up and put on her giselle wedding dress, from the movie enchanted. she came out and said, i could be a bride! i thought it was a great idea, its a cute dress, she looks so cute in it and we already had it! then i remembered i had my wedding veil and i got it out and put it on her. then she picked out yellow flowers for the bouquet i made and we had a bride!

november 2....

today is my half birthday if anyone cares... it's always been kind of a big deal to me, guess it never got old celebrating the small milestones in life. :) i usually prefer a half a cake and a small celebration, but i'm always the one that has to throw it.

by the way this is not my blog post for the day. it's just going to take all day for me to nag michael to do makenzie's halloween pictures. he just twittered "so glad it's sunday, i'm going to spend at least 7 hours on the couch". so, it may be a while.

stay tuned, i'm off to eat my half a cake...

a movie review...

so, i really wanted to blog about halloween today, but michael had a wedding this morning so he hasn't gotten the pictures for me. so, that will be tomorrow's blog probably. she was quite cute :)

so, the movie tinkerbell came out this week and i got it for makenzie. she's been watching aladdin alot lately and i love a good disney movie, so i thought we'd try it out.

tinkerbell turned out to be very enjoyable. i love the colors and graphics and it's a cute story. tinkerbell is given the job of a tinker fairy, but thinks that that isn't the best talent and wants to be something different. it ends up that she learns her talent is important and is happy with herself. makenzie likes it and has watched it several times now.

makenzie of halloween past...

i will post pictures of this halloween after tonight but i was looking at the past 4 halloweens of makenzie... she's growing up so fast. as much as i enjoy watching her grow up a part of me gets so sad looking through old pictures.

here she is at 7 months old. summer and i bought this costume for her at the children's place. we tried it on in the store and we were freaking out at how cute she was in it. everyone in the store was looking at her and thought she was the cutest thing!

a flower at 19 months, oh i LOVE this age...

here she is at 2 1/2 with her cousins aly and jake. a fireman and his dalmations, so cute!

last year at 3 1/2 she was a wench, or i mean a pirate princess. her cousin trever was supposed to be a pirate and she be his girl but his costume didn't fit.

look for tonight's halloween pictures soon!!

am i up for it???

my friend erin posted on her blog today that november is named "national blog posting month" and the goal is to blog every day for the month. hmmm... i don't think i'm that interesting to come up with something to blog about everyday that anyone would care about but i'm up for a challenge. makenzie is cute enough, i'll just post a picture of her everyday. :)

so, all my blogging friends... want to join me??

my new addiction...

before i met michael i was terribly picky. he made me change and try new foods and now i would say i'm slightly picky. i am willing to try most things now and do usually like them. last december when michael and i went to new york i even ate pork belly. it was incredible. there are a few things that i'm still not on board with like sushi and most seafood. i had a filet that came with escargot in new york. i couldn't do it, i couldn't make myself even try it. michael loved it of course. well one thing that i had tried but never cared for was avocados or guacamole. well, one time this summer i had guacamole and i really liked it. since then i LOVE it. and i've even perfected my own recipe of it! michael thinks i'm so weird that all of a sudden its my new favorite food. i don't know why, it is SOO good to me now.
