sleeping beauty...

i went in to check on makenzie before going to bed and she was laying like this. i thought it was really funny and so i got the camera. the flash went off and she didn't even stir. i showed her this morning and she laughed, thought it was so silly she was sleeping like that. :)

VBS...

makenzie is going to VBS this week. she loves it and is so excited to go every morning. the theme is superheroes. she told me before going that she didn't like superheroes. i convinced her it was just the theme and it didn't mean she had to be a superhero. :)

when we got there on monday they told her she was in the blue group and to get a blue t-shirt. she was NOT excited about the "boy color" t-shirt. she hardly wanted to put it on. and to add to it, it was HUGE!! she was so disappointed in it. :) her teacher told her to decorate it to make it girly. my thoughts were to just tie up the sleeves with some ribbons and be done with it. well, jessica was over here and makenzie mentioned decorating her shirt. and jessica said, i have t-shirt decorating stuff, i'll bring it over!

so, makenzie was SO excited to make her shirt not look like a boy's shirt. she turned it over and starting covering up the boy superheroes on the back. she covered up superman and spiderman. she said, i won't cover up jesus, i love jesus. and she left the girl superheroes - wonder woman and the incredibles girl. well, i thought the shirt was dry and turned it over so she could work on the front. the next morning when we woke up i picked up the shirt and the paper towel that i had laid it on stuck to the back where she had put glitter glue over the boys! i was trying to get it off and was about to get it wet and makenzie told me that she liked it! that it covered up the boys better! she was so proud! we cut the sleeves shorted and the bottom off and she was SO happy with her now girly shirt!

i was laughing so hard at the result and she was so proud!

father's day...

and happy father's day to my dad. here's a pic of me and my dad way back when. i am blessed to have such a wonderful, loving dad.

last day of preschool!!!

i can't believe makenzie is done with preschool! just a couple months away from being a kindergartner! wow! she's growing up so fast. she loved preschool this year. she has some great friends and loved her teachers.
