so, makenzie is a talker. she asks about 3,000 questions a day, 2,000 of which are "why?" i patiently answer most of them if it deserves an answer. i don't like to answer questions that she already knows the answer to. for example, i put the leashes on the dogs for a walk and she asks "mommy, why are you putting the leashes on?" or when we get in the car she feels the need to ask "why do i sit in the back and you sit up there to drive?". other questions have no answers other than "thats how God made it". for example, "why do i have light brown hair", "why are you a girl", "why do we have five fingers on one hand". today we were in the car looking at a place that michael wants to shoot at. she asked "where are we going?" and "are we going to drive or walk" about 300 hundred times. we finally had to tell her to stop asking questions. so she just sat crossed armed and pouting for the rest of the drive home. :)
she also has her own vocabulary...
flat it: means to spread out the blanket, towel, etc.
hos-ti-pal: hospital
hi-co-tee: coyote
yew nork: new york - she loves her "i heart NY" t-shirt we got her there.
nakim: napkin
liver it: the mailman, thats what he does - livers the mail
mum more: one more - it's like she doesn't get it actually means the number 1
i only wish i documented her words more as she learned to talk. she used to say lots of funny things, and the list is getting much smaller as she has gotten older. it is so great to see how much she has learned, but sometimes it's sad because it just means she is growing up. :( i loved it when she used to say "bub you" and "i hold you".
and here is one of her
4 year old pictures that michael took, just cuz you gotta have one....
