miscellaneous...

makenzie has one major flaw... she is the worst about making messes and not cleaning them up! seems like every other day her room looks like a tornado hit it and we have to battle through cleaning up. if i don't guide the cleaning, then her stuffed animals end up in her drawers, her toys end up in the laundry basket, her clothes end up stuff in her toy box. i'm not sure why it doesn't make sense to actually put things where they go. so, i have to come in every few minutes and make sure she cleans up correctly. fun times...

today she told me she wished she had a pet octopus. because if she had an octopus, it would have so many arms to help her clean and it wouldn't take her 5 hours to clean (she also has no concept of time haha)!! funny girl. but not a bad plan with a playroom that looks like this...



tonight while i was making dinner makenzie pulled up the stool and made her own. she kept going to the bathroom to get water and then added some lemon juice to it. then she came back with a tablespoon full of soap! she said she was making lemon juice soap soup.





we went to the library today to pick out some new books to read. makenzie loves books! we have alot and it seems like we still read them all. she never gets tired of them. i get a little tired of reading the same ones over and over so the new books from the library are always nice. she's been into learning about our bodies and how things work. she's learned about her bones, blood, lungs, the esophagus... and is always asking questions. i've looked at bookstores for a good human body book, but haven't found one that is too age appropriate. they are just too complex. well, i came across this one and really liked it! it talks about how our bodies work with a little bit of the scientific parts too. it's great! we read it tonight and she was really interested in it.
