when i was planning the party i was trying to decide what to make for dinner. usually kids get to pick their favorite dinner for their birthday, right? i always wanted fondue. but with my birthday in may, my mom always said, oh that's a winter meal. but then i would suggest it in the winter and she would say, oh that's a summer meal. haha, guess she didn't like prepping and cleaning up fondue. i also remember picking filet mignon for my birthday. ya, i had high standards. :) well, makenzie couldn't care less about most dinner food. she eats it, but nothing excites her. :) but, she loves breakfast food and loves waffles. so i decided we could have breakfast for dinner at her party. it was so great! we had 3 waffle makers going and tons of toppings - all kinds of fruits, peanut butter, chocolate, whipped cream, etc. it was perfect. everyone had a great time with it and loved the waffles.
here are a few pictures from the night. i wish i took more pictures of the people and the food, though....
i stole this off of trever and brooke's blog...one of the waffles being made...
present time...

santa forgot to bring makenzie a buggy from her christmas list. she's been kind of bugged with santa over that since then. she said, i guess i have to ask for it for my birthday since santa didn't bring it. :) so, she was quite excited when she opened it from jeff and jessica...

cheerleader dress, she loves it!

big thanks to trever for slime...

a dollhouse from us...

makenzie's cake request this year was a baskin robbins ice cream cake. kind of like dinner, makenzie doesn't care much of desserts. she likes cupcakes without frosting, sweet tarts, marshmellows, and rainbow sherbet ice cream. i know she didn't get that from me!! one day at baskin robbins she saw the cakes and it has been stuck in her head for many months that that is what she wanted. so we got a rainbow sherbet and white cake. so not what i would have picked out from baskin robbins but i guess you have to get what the birthday girl likes. :) it actually was good and she was very excited about it.
she had a funny look the whole time we were singing to her...

the big 5!!!!

it was a fun night!!

What a mean mom you had--maybe she will be a better grandma;)
We can have beef fondue for your birthday this year.--I think you have the fondue pot. Makenzie will probably like it too, but Michael will probably want sushi instead. And we will have chocolate cake, with vanilla ice cream so you can smoosh it all together. We will get orange sherbert for Makenzie. We love the pictures. She is so sweet--she never complained about the stroller at Christmas, just thought of a new plan. Love you.)MOM
