so far i really do like it. it feels so right that in december it's cold and we have to bundle up. i'm sure it helps that its the holiday time so it feels fun. so maybe in february i will be over it. i would so much rather it be cold that hot so i prefer this more. i do have to see after living her for 8 months now, i LOVE the seasons. i love that we have had spring, summer, amazing fall and now winter. and even though it was 100+ in july with 99% humidity, it only really lasted miserably for that month and then it's gone! not like when we lived in houston and this time of year you still deal with gross sticky days. and it's so much better than the same old 77 degrees and sunny that orange county got 90% of the time!
This week has been the coldest so far. With temperatures in the low 30's all week and the "feels like temperatures" in the teens! And since we walk everywhere we just bundle up and bear it! I got Makenzie a nice thick down coat and it seems to be doing the job and keeping her warm on the walks to school and at recess! I have yet to buy my warmer coat, I'm thinking it is definitely time. I just don't feel like walking in the cold to the stores to buy it! :)
On Monday morning we walked outside to go to school and it was snowing! i was so surprised because i couldn't see it through the windows. it was snow flurries, just really lightly falling. but makenzie was thrilled. she called them "snow furries" and thought it was so funny to walk in. :) it was so cute. later she said she had "snowdrops" on her jacket. :) the kids were all thrilled as we piled in the classroom. i'm sure when the snow falls and stick enough the play in the kids will all have a blast.
makenzie learned that a "white christmas" means hoping for snow on christmas. so now she's dreaming of a white christmas too! we'll see!
here she is on the walk to school that day. except you can't see the snow furries. :)
