march...the month of makenzie

so, i totally slacked in february on my blog. i didn't take any pictures and not much going on that i thought was very exciting for the blog. so, here were are in march. hard to believe! makenzie turns five on the 30th so i decided to dedicate this month to blogging about makenzie everyday. :) and since she's just the most wonderful little girl, who wouldn't love reading about her everyday!?!?!

makenzie is blessed to have wonderful grandparents. michael and i both have great families and so makenzie is lucky have the best grandparents. my niece noelle named my mom and dad, mimi and poppi. then jake came along on the other side of the family and named michael's parents, mimi and papa. so, when makenzie came along, we tried to stick with mimi and poppi and mimi and papa. well, when she was learning to talk, only mimi and papa stuck....for both sides. so makenzie has two mimi's and two papa's. confusing?? no, not to makenzie. she always knows who she is talking about. :) when she was 2 we had christmas with my mom and dad and with michael's mom since michael's dad was in kuwait. well, one day she had a flashlight and was looking in all of our mouths at our tonsils. my mom and dad both had their tonsils taken out but michael's mom and dad both have their tonsils. so, that was the first differentiation between them - the mimi and papa with tonsils and the mimi and papa without tonsils. it was so funny, she would talk to people about her grandparents and would say, "the mimi with tonsils", etc. people who didn't know the background story always thought it was quite funny to call them that. :) she doesn't really use that anymore. one time she came up with "the clean mimi", and then the "flying papa" and the "driving papa". once she understood that one set is my parents and one set is michael's parents, she describes them like that. :)

today is my dad's brithday - "one without tonsils, the driving papa". so makenize wanted to say happy birthday to him....

i love you dad. happy birthday. thank you for all you've done for me. i love you.

She is so cute! I remember the last time she was here and at my Grannie's house. Granddaddy is in the nursing facility but Grannie lives in her house. So Makenzie asked Grannie where her papa was? Apparantly, she had been told she would be going to see another Mimi and Papa. But the Papa wasn't there...

Kids get it even if we don't. :)
