a day in the snow...

michael has been in atlanta all week for a new years eve wedding. so on wednesday jeff, makenzie and i decided to go up to big bear. jeff is a great skier but i suck at skiing and makenzie has never skied, so i wasn't sure what to expect. i actually decided to give snowboarding a shot and i put makenzie is ski school for the day. well, i sucked at snowboarding too. i know it is known to be hard to learn and you spend the first day on your butt, but it was near impossible for me to learn. i like to ski on the easy slopes because my problem is the feeling of not being in control. not sure why i thought snowboarding would be any better. it was so hard! when i went to watch makenzie in her last lesson she wasn't with her group. so i went over to the kid's lodge and there she was asleep on the couch. she didn't make it to her second lesson, she was snoozing away. she looked so cute in all her snow clothes asleep on the couch. but, turns out she really liked her ski lesson in the morning. she said she didn't fall and she learned out to stop. to stop you make a pizza slice with your skis. :) so cute, i wish i could have seen her do it. on our way out we stopped to play in the snow for a little bit. makenzie loved it and is excited to go back again soon. so, i guess i will either brave another snowboarding class or spend the day skiing on the bunny slopes. :)
