toys i hate...

in thinking about christmas coming up it means that more toys will be added to makenzie's collection. she's not one that has a million toys or already has everything there is to have before she's 5, but she does have her fair share. some toys i love, have been a great buy, her continuous favorites, but some i have been wishing i could get rid of. she seems to love most everything too, so she always gets sad when we clean through and weed out toys. she always finds some special attachment to even the dumbest things or toys she's had forever.

here is a list of toys i hate. we still have them of course and i was the one that wanted them for her, but they are certainly not on my list to keep around forever...

bee bop band...
i think this toy is adorable and cute for little ones. before they have enough strength to make it loud and obnoxious. makenzie loved this and still likes it. it's a garage/outside toy though and i can still only take it for a short time. she hangs the drum from her neck and marches and drums and sings....ya, its loud.

moon sand...
this is great stuff because it doesn't get stuck anywhere and it's fun to play with. but...it get's everywhere! she loves playing with it but i always end up having to vaccuum. it's like have a sandbox on the counter, not a good idea.

play-do hair salon...
i bought this for makenzie when was 2. she loved cutting but i wasn't into real scissors for her at that age and this came with little scissors to cut the hair. brillant, right? ya, even now at 4 1/2 she can't do it and gets so mad. so i have help her everytime to squeeze the hair out.

chuck e cheese or prizes from kids meals, etc...
i can't stand all these miscellaneous toys that she gets from places. they are always these junky little toys that she gets all attached to because she won it or whatever. theres never a place to put them and they just accumulate.

makenzie has always liked toys to push, strollers etc. when she got a play kitchen at 2 i thought a shopping cart would be a fun addition. ya, not this one. since it's metal it is super loud and she runs with it like a terror and scares the dogs. this also lives in the garage.

i think its time for some giving of the toys to children who don't have toys before christmas comes!

Oh I so hear you on the misc. toys from kids meals and the dollar section of Target. I have a rule that they all stay in the little bin in the car, and then I weed through it whenever we're at the car wash and throw away some each time.

Cute toys. Maybe you can get her to weed her own toys out and then have her give them to the needy children for Christmas. Kind of like a Makenzie project. (Is she too young for that?)

My nephew has everything, or quite a lot. I have to call and ask what I can get him since he has had so much donated to him gently used.

I was thinking the new Fisher Price DVD Kid Tough player. $149 on sale. Brother said that he is already too advanced for that...back to the drawing board. Got any suggestions for a 3 year old precocious boy? :)

To Makenzie's Mom: I can't believe this blog! Comming from the person who can't throw away anything from her past!(TO ALL WHO READ THIS, MY GARAGE IS FULL OF OLD STUFF THAT SHE WILL NOT LET ME THROW AWAY) so to the one who wants to clean out Makenzie's toys- do these 2 things:
1. look in the mirror
2. think of what's in your daddy's garage.
love, dad
PS-to give your readers a idea of what i am talking about- you still have,in my garage, your old ugly boots you wore to Africa how many years ago?
GIVE MAKENZIE A BREAK! she loves her stuff- just like her mommy
