makenzie is obsessed with convertibles. she has been for a long time, even before she could say the word correctly. it was more like the word "incredible" for a while. so, she would point of convertibles when she saw one while driving. then one time we showed her a convertible that had it's cover up. i probably said, that soft part, it folds down and makes it a convertible. so, then she started pointing out what she calls "soft tops". it got to be where she was noticing them all the time. she says mid-sentence "soft top" or "convertible". it's pretty funny. one day we were all in the car and she said "soft top" and i told michael that i try to notice them before she does so i can beat her to it. so, in his head that meant, game on. now there is this huge competition every time we are in the car between the two of them to find the most convertibles and soft tops. they have rules, like not at night time, or it doesn't count in a parking lot, etc. it's quite insane. who needs two children playing and arguing in the car when i have michael and makenzie playing "convertibles and soft tops". she even played in new york while we were walking on the streets. she tried to add in "taxi!" but that was just ridiculous. :) makenzie opens her blinds in the morning when she wakes up. the other morning i heard her say "soft top" at the car parked outside on the street. haha, goofy girl. i just wonder how long this game will go on.
